By connecting to the real world of students’ lives, authentic learning enables students to become lifelong learners who contribute to society and the wider world as active and discerning citizens. Authentic learning is central to our work as Catholic educators because it promotes the continual growth and wellbeing of the whole person — spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, socially and physically.
At Holy Family Catholic Primary School Menai, we provide students with rigorous and challenging learning experiences that ignite curiosity, imagination, and creativity. Students collaborate with peers and teachers to explore their world and make connections to their lives.
Our teaching and learning programs are designed to meet the needs of each student, based on student feedback, passions, and interests. This approach ensures students are prepared to be successful lifelong learners who make positive contributions to society.
We celebrate both individual and collective achievements within our school community. Students work towards self-identified learning goals, and their achievements are recognized during our fortnightly Gold Award assemblies. Positive behavior is rewarded through our School-wide Positive Behaviour for Learning Program with “Gotchas” and special prizes, and awards.
